About The Proud Project

Founded by Christina Fell in 2022, The Proud Project was built on a clear belief: fitness should feel empowering, not intimidating.

After training as a mat and reformer Pilates instructor, and later teaching in Miami, Christina saw firsthand how boutique fitness could create a more personal, elevated experience. Back in London, she noticed a gap in the market. While boutique Pilates was growing, many spaces still felt intimidating or overly aesthetic-led.

So she built something different.

The Proud Project was created to combine high-quality training with warmth, emotional safety, and genuine human connection. The goal was never just to get people moving. It was to create a space where people could feel proud of their bodies and supported in how they move through life.

As Christina puts it, the aim is to help people “move better for longer,” with a studio experience that feels aspirational but inclusive.

Previous challenges

Find a platform that could support growth

As The Proud Project expanded, the team needed software that could keep up with the operational demands of a growing boutique business.

Before bsport, the studio was using Mindbody. But over time, Christina found it harder to work with as the business scaled.

“As we scaled, Mindbody started to feel more limiting than supportive.”

For a business managing more than 2,000 classes a month and a team of around 150 trainers across locations, daily operations needed to be efficient, flexible, and easy to manage. Schedule changes, teacher substitutions, reporting, and day-to-day coordination all had to run smoothly.

The team also needed better support.

Create a premium experience from the first click

For Christina, the client experience starts long before someone walks into the studio. In boutique fitness, the website, app, and booking journey all shape how people perceive the brand.

That matters even more in reformer Pilates, where price points are high, capacity is limited, and expectations are even higher.

As Christina explains, if the digital experience feels clunky, people often assume the in-studio experience will be too. The software had to feel seamless, intuitive, and easy for a wide range of members to use.

The solution: bsport

Give the team support when it matters most

Running a studio means juggling hundreds of details. The team needs reliable support throughout the day.

“Having access to the team while we’re open is really, really important.”

bsport supports The Proud Project every step of the way.

“The chat function, the regular check-ins, and having account managers at bsport has been hugely valuable for me as a small business owner. All of our concerns, solutions, or small fixes have been dealt with really quickly.”

Offer more clarity and control

With bsport, The Proud Project gained a system that feels clearer, faster, and easier for the team to use across roles.

“bsport gives a lot of clarity and control across the team, so the team feels really confident using the system.”

From managers to marketing to operations, different team members use bsport in different ways, from reporting and revenue visibility to scheduling and class management. That shared visibility makes it easier to stay aligned and operate confidently.

bsport has also reduced the admin load around scheduling and coordination.

“Managing teachers, substitutions, and class variations is a lot clearer on bsport, and definitely less admin-heavy. It allows us to plan more proactively rather than constantly reacting.”

Make booking easier for members

bsport has improved the client journey, especially through a smoother booking experience and an intuitive app.

“Having the bsport member app has been really great. It’s really easy for people to buy class packs, monitor their memberships, and book their classes on the site or on the app.”

That ease matters. With classes often full and capacity intentionally small, reducing friction in booking helps members stay engaged and makes it easier for them to return.

“The occupancy has been supported by there being fewer friction points in the booking experience.”

Christina also notes that members have felt the difference compared to the studio’s previous platform.

“With Mindbody, it just wasn’t as intuitive, either as a site or as an app. That’s something clients have really appreciated with bsport.”

Support retention with more intentional communication

For The Proud Project, retention is a core part of growth. The team uses bsport Audience to guide new members through intro offers, encourage conversion to memberships, re-engage quieter clients, and celebrate loyal members over time.

“We use bsport Audience to welcome new clients differently from long-standing members, re-engage quieter clients, and run win-back journeys. We also use it to celebrate milestones.”

The platform also supports a more personal experience in the studio. Team members use notes on client accounts to understand individual context and create more thoughtful, personal interactions.

“While Audience helps build relationships at scale, the personal notes we add in bsport CRM on each member’s record help us create more intentional touchpoints when they walk through the door. We can have really personalized conversations, which makes members feel known and connected.”

That blend of operational structure and personal attention helps The Proud Project deliver the kind of experience it set out to create from day one.

Conclusion

As The Proud Project grows, Christina is clear on what matters most: keeping the culture, care, and quality of the experience intact.

That is not easy in a fast-growing boutique fitness business. bsport is here to help.

“bsport has been really helpful in balancing the growth of the business with consistency.”

“As the business expands, maintaining the same level of personal touch, operational excellence, and culture is always a challenge, but bsport has helped us protect that standard while growing.”

bsport provides the structure The Proud Project needs to scale, without losing what made it special in the first place.
