The Secret Flow and Override offer very different fitness experiences, but both have built their studios around the same thing: creating a place where members feel they belong.
Ask studio owners what brings someone through the door and they might point to the classes, instructors or equipment. But what keeps new members return again and again?
Two UK studios, The Secret Flow and Override, have found their answer. Despite being two very different businesses, both agree that community is what shapes the classes they offer and makes their spaces so special.
The Secret Flow: creating space to slow down
The Secret Flow is a small, women-only infrared Pilates studio. Its founder, Risa, set out to create more than a place to exercise.
“I wanted to create a space where women could really slow down and build a community together.”
Classes are deliberately challenging but accessible, giving both new and experienced members a place within the studio. But when it comes to what brings people back, Risa’s answer is simple.
“When you come here, it feels like a family. You just don’t want to leave.”
Creating that feeling takes time and attention. Behind it sits the less visible work of managing memberships, purchases, member communication and reporting.
The Secret Flow uses bsport to bring those tasks together.
“bsport has been such a big help when it comes to managing the studio because everything is simple. From memberships and purchases to seeing my reporting as a studio owner, it is all within bsport.”
Smart Lists also help the studio automate parts of its member marketing, making it easier to stay in touch without every message becoming another manual task.
“Marketing is so much simpler with bsport. Smart Lists make everything more automated and take that task out of the way, so I can give members a better experience.”
Natalie opened Override as a spin studio six years ago. After building an established community around high-energy cardio, the business expanded into reformer Pilates.
On paper, the two formats offer very different experiences but Natalie knows they complement each other perfectly.
“Spin and reformer both give you a buzz, but in different ways. Reformer is about strength and mobility, and movement is medicine. They work really well together. Both have that community feeling, which is really important to us as a brand.”
As the business expanded, Override needed to make the experience work across two formats. That meant making it easy for members to find and book a class, while giving the team the visibility and support needed to manage the business behind the scenes.
Override has worked with bsport for four years.
“What is really important is that the customer has a smooth journey, with the minimum number of clicks needed to book a class. From the owner’s side, we need reporting, marketing and communication options, as well as support from someone at bsport. It has made things smoother for us and for our clients.”
For Override, the foundations of a successful studio extend beyond its location and equipment. The people delivering the experience, and the systems supporting them, matter just as much.
“Instructors are everything but you also have to have the right back-office support. We have been using bsport for four years now, which has been fantastic.”
With one spin studio and one reformer studio now established, the team is already looking ahead.
“We want to take this to another level, and then another. This is just the beginning.”
The Secret Flow has created an intimate space where women can slow down. Override has brought spin and reformer together through a shared sense of energy and belonging.
Their approaches are different, but neither leaves community to chance. It is built into the classes, the member journey and the everyday details that shape how a studio feels.
The work behind that experience may be less visible, but it still matters. By making memberships, bookings, communication and reporting easier to manage, bsport gives studio teams more space to concentrate on the people in front of them, and on creating a place members want to return to.
